All about Green Energy and Carbon Capture

Are you a science enthusiast? Want to learn something new about science?  If yes, then go ahead you

are at the right place. Today we will be discussing in detail Green Energy and Carbon Capture in.

Let us begin with talking about Carbon Capture.

What is Carbon Capture?

Carbon Capture is a new undeveloped technology whose primary purpose is to capture the emitted CO 2

which would help decrease global warming. Carbon Capture is also known as Carbon Dioxide Capture.

Carbon Capture can be used for various things such as for manufacturing of fuels, building materials,

and enhancement in oil recovery. It can be stored underground for geologic formation.

This process is divided into 3 steps (Capturing the radiated CO 2 , Transporting process and the final one is

storing the captured CO 2 deep underground).

It can capture up to 90% of CO 2 from industrial facilities and power plants installed in factories. There

are currently 4,500 miles of pipelines for transferring the captured CO 2 to the United States so that it

could be used in the process of Oil recovery but still it is not enough we will need more pipelines. Given

below is a list of companies that are currently indulged in the market of carbon capture process:

 CarbonFree

 Carbfix

 Carbon Engineering

 Lanza Tech

 CO2 Capsol

 Aker Carbon Capture

 Svante

 CarbonBuilt

 ClimeWorks

 Carbon Clean

This is not a complete list of companies just some famous ones, many more companies are also indulged

in this work but are not yet popular.

What is Green Energy?

Green Energy is also known as Renewable Energy. It is the energy that is accumulated from renewable

sources such as wind, sunlight, geothermal heat, and the movement of water. Mostly the green energy

accumulated is sustainable but sometimes they are not. For example, energy formed from biomass

sources could not be considered sustainable. Green Energy can be used for various purposes such as

electricity generation, water heating and cooling, and many more. There are mainly 5 types of Green

energy which are described as follows:

 Hydroelectric Energy

 Wind Power

 Geothermal Energy

 Solar Energy

 Bioenergy

Green energy, Good Energy, Pure Planet, and Ecotricity are the name of the best green energy suppliers

in the world.

Benefits of Green Energy and Carbon Capture

Given below are the advantages of both technologies:

 Reduction in global warming.

 Reduce the presence of CO 2 in the atmosphere.

 Improvement in public health.

 Benefit in Employment Sector.

 Increase in reliability towards natural resources.

 Controlled Costs.

 Provides clean environment

Final Thoughts

Like a coin has two sides everything in life also has two sides. Green Energy and Capture also have some

disadvantages. But it is just that there are more pros than cons to them. The live Oak tree is a tree that is

most efficient in absorbing the emitted carbon dioxide of the atmosphere. After the Oak tree, the

second tree that also absorbs Carbon dioxide is the East Palatka Holly. In Australia, Solar Energy is the

most used renewable energy and Wind Turbines have about 8000 parts. Hence, in a conclusion, both

Green Energy and Carbon Capture are important for our environment.
